For anyone in a creative or entrepreneurial field, the philosophy of stoicism — made especially relevant because of the likes of Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and Sextius — can be incredibly powerful. The stoic exercises these men practiced essentially helped them focus on their locus of control, and refrain from getting emotional about things they could not affect. In essence, we can only affect our thoughts and personal actions — and while factors such as the Law of Attraction may be influenced when we apply our thoughts in a particular direction, the practical stoicism of these great leaders helped them stay service-oriented, ethical, and prudent in their work. #stoicism
